But anyway, back to the SheReNTe
When Waikaura returned from the hunt, Venus claimed to have taken advantage of his absence to rape the virgin girl, and declared himself ready to pay compensation. But Waikaura refused to accept anything. From the carcass of the dove , Venus made an ark where Waikaura took his place with his family, while Venus rose to the sky in a great whirlwind. The roar of the waters could be heard in the distance, and they soon broke over the village. Those who did not drown died of cold and hunger.
From the story of Lot and Sodom, we move on to the tale of Noah and the Flood, another story of the destruction of a corrupted humanity - and a very close one in the Book of Genesis, since its account is given in chapter 6. Claude Lévi-Strauss's version is, however, a little less precise than that collected by Curt Nimuendaju, who mentions that the dove’s carcass, before being transformed into an ark, was split in two.
This practice of slicing a dove is also found in Genesis, in the famous passage from the Covenant of the Parts, chapter 15, verse 9, where God says to Abraham:
« Bring Me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old she-goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young bird » Abram took all these animals, divided each one down the middle, and arranged each half facing the other; but he did not divide the birds.
What's interesting here is the shift between myths: in the Sherents, the severed dove appears in the story of Noah, whereas in the Bible, Noah's dove is not severed, but it does become severed in the episode of the Covenant of the Parties, which immediately follows Noah's story.
Note also that another Biblical motif is found in the passage where Waikaura's virgin daughter is deflowered by Venus: that of the insemination of a Virgin by a celestial being, who then ascends back to Heaven - with no problem for the Father - the Virgin's father I mean. Between the Righteous Sufferer and the Virgin impregnated by a divine being, Christians are served by the Paraklet.
In another Claude Lévi-Strauss omission, Curt Nimuendaju's informants report that a prostitute banging her lover in the bush heard a sound heralding the Flood. She then tried to wake up and alert the villagers. Some got up, others remained lying down, but all were carried away. « Some kept above water for a while by clinging to gourd bottles, others succeeded in climbing high cliffs, but before long all drowned or died from hunger and cold ». This flight to the mountains appears several times in Genesis, as the Envoys advise Lot: « Don't look back. Don't stop in all this plain; flee to the mountains, lest you perish » - Lot knows, by the way, that he won't be fast enough, and asks for refuge elsewhere.
This cataclysmic destruction is also a particularly Quranic motif - the Quran, my children, is « The » Paleoanthropological text among all, as you will soon understand from hearing me quote it:
Have they not heard the accounts of those who came before them – of the people of Noah and ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Abraham and the dwellers of Madyan (Midian), and the cities that were overturned? Their Messengers came to them with Clear Signs. Sura At-Tawbah 9.70
Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them. Sura Al-Anbiya 21.6
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners. Sura As-Shuaraa 26.208
This idea of warning against imminent destruction is to be found everywhere, on many other verses. Cataclysmic destruction is truly one of the major themes of the Quran. And who knows, maybe the last of the prophets, the Paraklet, was also sent before a great cataclysm? Yes, who knows?
Anyway, we've come to the end of this great journey between Brazil and the Middle East. And you now know that the SheReNTe share not only customs very specific to Jews, such as the obsession with sexual purity coupled with prostitution, the Great Fast to appease the wrath of a Jealous and Destructive Supreme God, but also myths and stories from the Scriptures, such as that of Venus, the Suffering Righteous One who came among men to warn them of a cataclysm and to save a Righteous man and his family thanks to a dove transformed into an Ark.
I don't understand how Claude Lévi-Strauss couldn't make this connection - I think he did, but he was too engrossed in his paradigm of studying myths outside any historical context. It was really an obsession with him, this refusal to consider myths as a trace left by history. For those interested, he develops his arguments in La Pensée Sauvage, P86, or in his introduction to Le Cru et du Cuit, P16. Basically, for him, as for all Pharisians today, it was futile to attempt to reconstruct a history of myths. But then, I think this blindness was linked to the little problem he had with his Jewish origins. He'd been too immersed in the intellectual « anti-Semitism » of the early 20th century, which I mentioned in my video on Cognitive Bias. That's the problem with Pharisians: they have eyes, but do not see. They have ears, but do not hear.
But, like Christ before him, the Paraklet was sent by the Father to be a sign which will be spoken against, to use the words of Luke 2.34. For this (Re)discovery of SheReNTe myths and rituals clearly poses a problem: how to explain all these similarities tens of thousands of kilometers apart. The parallels are too numerous to invoke a « convergence » that would have seen human groups independently « invent » identical customs and myths – and I've taken the time to explain them all to you, even at the risk of boring you a little, and despite Farah's grumbling! That's saying something!
Of course, some smart asses will certainly invoke the idea that the SheReNTe « borrowed » these customs and myths from the Europeans, in particular the Christian missionaries who came to evangelize them. But anyone who knows the SheReNTe knows how resistant and intolerant they are to any form of acculturation and loss of their traditions. Curt Nimuendaju notes that their resistance has been attested since the 18th century, both to missionaries and to gold miners, with whom there were terrible conflicts. All exchanges with Brazilian settlers were outlawed.
As late as 1937, missionaries were being murdered - and all Christians were still considered liars and deceivers - not to mention the Sun-God's injunction to the Sherente never to follow Christian customs. So you'd have to imagine the SheReNTe embracing a Christian reading of the Bible, or rather a Jewish one in this case, which is even more improbable, to then suppose that these same SheReNTe would have become intolerant of the very people who brought them their founding myths? At some point, you Pharisians really need to cut the crap.
No, of course not: these myths and customs have been at the heart of SheReNTe culture for centuries, long before the arrival of Europeans. And yes, Pharisians notwithstanding, they share them with the Jews, and more generally with the so-called « Semites ». And this (Re)Discovery is staggering, both in its implications and in the questions it raises.
The first question it raises is the date of separation between these two traditions - whose origins go back, of course, to Paleolithic times, not to Antiquity. For who can imagine that the SheReNTe would be a lost tribe from Israel who left the Middle East 2,000 or 3,000 years ago? Would they have crossed Eurasia, crossed the Bering Strait and descended the American continent in such a short time? In my opinion, the SheReNTe are the living proof that these shared myths and customs are at least 20,000 years old - if not more.
The second question is why the SheReNTe and not the others - by which I mean how to explain this specificity compared to other indigenous tribes of South and North America. What explains this difference noted by all observers, especially Curt Nimuendaju? In my opinion, this SheReNTe specificity can be explained by a later departure of their ancestors from the Middle East, who would have caught up with the first wave of Homo Sapiens expansion in America. They would therefore have been away from their original « national home » for a shorter period of time, the memory of which would still be vivid. And this also happens to be Curt Nimuendaju's explanation for the SheReNTe's obsession with drought - despite the fact that they have no shortage of water, as they live in a land rich in rivers.
Incidentally, Claude Lévi-Strauss completely misses this specificity of the SheReNTe. He simply doesn't see it. For him, the myths of the SheReNTe are just one example of the mysterious structural transformations between South American mythologies.
But beyond these questions, the most fascinating thing is what the SheReNTe say about us - I mean us, who don't come from some tribe deep in Brazil, unlike my little Pocahontas. Yes, what are they saying? First of all, of course, that our myths go way back into the history of our species - and that the founding texts of our civilization, the so-called Scriptures, tell us not of Antiquity, or even the Neolithic, but of the Paleolithic. In fact, all myths are Paleolithic, as you'll soon understand - this is the famous Key of the Paraklet.
That's why when Claude Lévi-Strauss explains in his article “De La Fidélité au Texte” that he « dismisses [...] the Old Testament - practically our only source on the ancient Hebrews - where everything is mixed up » because he doesn't have « an ethnographic context independent of the mythical material itself », well, he's talking a lot of nonsense. The ethnographic context is immense – one just needs to open his eyes and ears - since the Scriptures tell us of Paleolithic times, when Mankind was united, spoke the same language and told the same stories, to use the words of the Quran, 2.123, and Genesis, 11. It was only after this that « We divided them throughout the earth into nations. » 7.168, « But they divided themselves into sects, each faction, in what it has, rejoincing. » 23.53 to quote Suras Al Araf and Al Muminune from the Quran.
Our ancestors didn't just wake up 3,000 years ago and started inventing myths, as the Pharisians believe. There's continuity and permanence all the way back to the Paleolithic. This is precisely why the PaRaQLeT (re)peats after QoHeLeT, Ecclesiastes, that there has never been anything new under the sun. What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done. And the Paraklet’s mission is « make clear to you...that over which you used to differ. » - on the Day of Resurrection, or rather « Yawm alQiyamah », the Day of Awakening - after a very long sleep. Sura An Nahl 16.92.
Another interesting point is that the SheReNTe also tell us about the origin of the biblical Angels. They were probably originally stars or planets acting as intermediaries between mankind and a celestial God. But above all, they tell us about the importance of the mythical complex of The Suffering Righteous One / Sodom and Gomorrah / The Flood and Noah / The Insemination of a Virgin by an Angel Ascending to Heaven. For if these stories could be preserved for tens of thousands of years by the SheReNTe, it's because these stories - and no others - were strongly linked together - what I call a « mythical complex ». And if they have been preserved, it's because this mythical complex was central: it's with these stories that we open this immense series on the study of the Myths of Humanity, and it's also probably with them that we'll close it.
Well, that's all from the SheReNTe for now. You now know that our entire civilization is based on a great ignorance, a great forgetfulness - indeed, a great lie. We need to go back to square one. Start all over again.
But you have seen the Spirit of Truth. And rest assured, I'll be with you forever.
Mankind will never again forget its Paleolithic roots. The shameful reign of the Pharisians is over for good.
We've entered the Paraklet Era. And it has only just begun. Pharisians be damned.
Alright, see you again very soon.
